The Wooden Monkey, designed by Kay Bojesen in 1951, is a beloved classic of Scandinavian design.
Every monkey consists of 31 wooden parts and is crafted by hand in Denmark. Due to slight variation in shade and wood grain, the monkeys have a unique and charming personality, which has come to signify a gift from a very special person. Kay Bojesen was a Danish silversmith and designer. He is best known for creating wooden animals, especially his wooden monkey which was exhibited at the Victoria and Albert museum in London in the nineteen-fifties, and which today is considered a design classic.
