Snow Peak - Hita Geta
These traditional Geta Sandals are made in Hita, Oita prefecture - a traditional craft for this region. The base is made from Hita Cedar, a type of wood that can be found in the surrounding forests of Hita, and the thong is made from a fabric produced in Okayama. An EVA sole is added for a modern take on the Geta, providing grip and comfort for walking.
*The fit for Geta comes tight, and your heels and toes would come out a little from the clogs. That's how you traditionally wear Geta.
Founded by Japanese-born mountaineer Yukio Yamai in 1958 and named for his favourite mountain to climb, Mt Tanigawa, Snow Peak was born out of a dissatisfaction with outdoor products and a desire to create the most superior gear on the market. Snow Peak hails from Niigata Prefecture, which is also known locally as the Hardware Town for its history of fine crafted metal work.
